I wrote the post ‘That little voice inside‘ a little while ago and I had promised sharing a technique I’ve learnt through my intuitive coaching class on how to best access your intuition when you have a dilemma. Here it comes…
Grab a piece of paper and write down your dilemma as well as an option A and an option B (or solution A, solution B… as you wish) for this dilemma.
Close your eyes. Take three nice, relaxed breaths.
Imagine yourself walking outside. You’re completely relaxed. Straight ahead comes a path. You start walking down that path, slowly.
Then ahead of you comes a fork in the path. Walk up to that fork.
Pick one of the two paths ahead of you as if this path indicated that you had chosen option A for your dilemma. Start walking down that path, knowing that you have chosen option A. Keep walking and exploring the path, asking yourself these questions:
- What is the weather like? Is it sunny, cloudy, raining, snowing?
- What is the path like? Is it easy? Difficult?
- What does it smell like?
- How are you feeling?
- What are you thinking about?
Once you’ve explored the path well enough, come back to the fork and take the other path as if you had opted for option B. Go through the same exercise again, paying attention to your environment, your feelings and your thoughts.
When you’re done with path B, come back up the path, taking your time.
When you’re ready, open your eyes again.
Which path was better? Easier? More appealing? Which option should you go with?
