Never give up

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” – Harriet Beecher Stowe

It was my three-year-old nephew’s second soccer game. The first one  had been challenging – he didn’t want to play and didn’t take two steps away from his dad despite his parents listening to his concern and supporting him.

The beginning of game two didn’t look too promising. My sister kept encouraging him, following him from activity to activity. Just as she started thinking soccer wasn’t her son’s thing, my nephew joined the game and had fun running and playing with the other kids. Patience and encouragement had paid off.

Such a simple lesson to never give up, whether that be in our own careers, with others or with our families.
